WORKING WITH CREATORS
A new UK evening drink for women in midlife. We launch in October, and I'm picking a small group of creators to launch it with.
A free box, in exchange for a few clips of you using it
I've spent the last year making an evening drink for women in midlife. We launch in October.
I'm looking for a few creators to team up with long term, who can make genuinely good content for it. The ones whose clips land well get paid for the ones after, and an invitation to the affiliate programme.
I've been through your profile and think you'd fit. First step: I send you a month's supply free, and you film a few short clips of you making it and saying what you think.
Below is what the drink actually is and who it's for, so you know what you'd be putting your name to.
Adam
You enjoy a drink at the end of the day.
Awake at three. Night sweats. Tired all day, however early you got to bed.
You put it down to your age. It might be the wine.
So you drink less. And you're left with tea, water, or something high in sugar.
Have it when you sit down in the evening, to relax after a long day.
Vitamin C for collagen production. Hyaluronic acid to hold water in.
Jujube seed for a mind that won't settle, with L-theanine and glycine.
Magnesium, for tiredness and fatigue.
Mum likes a glass of wine in front of the TV after a long day. At some point it started costing her more than it used to. Worse headaches, broken sleep, feeling rough well into the next day.
She put it down to work and to getting older, and she wasn't wrong about either. But it was worse on the nights she drank, and once she'd noticed that, she couldn't unnotice it.
She didn't stop. She just stopped fully enjoying it.
Her alternatives were drinks high in sugar, a cup of tea, or something pretending to be wine. Nobody was making the thing she actually wanted, so I did. That's how Kinn started.
The formula
No tiny amounts just so we can list them on the label.
Every amount here is set by published research.
You'll know magnesium. You may know L-theanine. This one you won't.
Jujube seed has been used in Chinese medicine for two thousand years for the evening, and a mind that won't settle. A placebo-controlled trial of 106 women found a measurable difference in three weeks, at the 500mg we use.
Six made it in. Some obvious ones didn't.
In the UK it's a prescription medicine, not a supplement, so it was never an option for a nightly drink. It also does a narrower job than most people assume — it shifts the timing of your body clock, which is why it's prescribed for jet lag and shift work.
The one everyone expects, and it's in most products in this category. The evidence is reasonable for stress and thinner for anything else. It can also affect thyroid hormone levels, and thyroid conditions are more common in women, and more common again with age. Not a risk worth taking in a drink built for this group.
Magnesium always comes bound to something else, and that pairing decides how much you actually absorb. Oxide is the cheapest and by most estimates the worst absorbed by a distance — much of it simply stays in the gut, which is where its reputation for discomfort comes from. Bisglycinate absorbs considerably better and sits gently in the evening.
Cold over ice or warm in a mug. Eight ways to make it, if you're ever short of something to film.
Four steps. Only one of them takes any of your time.
One
I take your details and add you to the launch list. Nothing else needed from you yet.
Two
Free, a full month's supply, the week we go on sale in October.
Three
Nothing fancy. Prop your phone against something, press record, and get the six shots below. Six is the baseline, and the more variations you send the better your chances.
Four
Paid work on the clips after, at a rate we agree. And if your clips are good, an invitation to the affiliate programme.
What we send you
It'll be £58 a box when it goes on sale, or £46 a month on subscription. Yours is free, in exchange for a few clips.
Your first month's supply, dosed to the research.
The shots that tend to work.
Once we have seen your clips, the people we want to keep working with get a founding place: thirty of them, at the highest rate we will ever offer. It drops to 15% after those have gone.
26 founding places left
You earn 25% of every first order, for life. After these thirty places the rate drops to 15%.
She subscribes, you keep earning. 5% of every box she reorders, for her first six months.
Share it when you want to.
Once you're driving orders each month, your box is on us. No buying your own, no running out mid-month.
If one of your videos does well, we'll put ad spend behind it. Your account and your content, our budget.
The whole thing runs over WhatsApp. If something isn't working you're messaging me, not a support inbox.
No. If you make content for brands, audience size doesn't matter to me at all. If you do have an audience, the affiliate side is where it adds up. Both work.
Send your clips first. If we want to carry on working together, you get your own code and link and earn on every order you drive. There's no quota and nothing to hit.
We cut them into our marketing and our paid ads. You keep the right to show the footage in your portfolio, and I'll confirm that in writing before anything runs.
No. Plenty of people just send me the raw files. If you do post something, it needs #ad.
No script, and nothing for me to approve first. Say what you actually think, including that you didn't like it. A creator reading from a brand's notes is obvious to everyone watching.
The first set is the free box. If they work for us there's paid work after that, at a rate we agree between us. If you'd rather be paid from the start, tell me your rate and I'll give you a straight answer the same day.
No, and we'd rather you didn't. Separate raw clips are more use to us than a finished edit, because we cut them for ads ourselves. Send them however they come off your phone.
The week we launch in October. Nothing ships before then, so there's nothing for you to do between now and launch.
Then say so, on camera if you want. It's more useful to me than a polite video, and I'd rather know.
Yes. No exclusivity, and I won't ask you to turn anything down.
Bright Sicilian lemon with a clean, refreshing tang. Not sweet. Good cold, good warm.
No. It takes the edge off, it won't knock you out. If you're expecting what two glasses of wine does, this isn't that — and I'd rather say so now than have you find out on night one.
No, and I'm not asking you to. But have it every evening if you can — most of what's in it builds up over weeks rather than working on the night, so having it now and then won't tell either of us much. Plenty of people will have it most evenings and still enjoy a glass of wine at the weekend.
Think in weeks rather than one night. Some of it you may feel the same evening; magnesium in particular builds gradually with consistent use. Miss the odd night and you've undone nothing.
Yes — it's a food supplement, not hormonal, so it sits alongside HRT.
Check with your GP or pharmacist before you start. One of the ingredients, jujube seed, can interact with some antidepressants — and if the answer's no, just tell me, no awkwardness.
